Limited wisdom....plenty of worries.

Tue Jul 28, 2009, 6:49 PM
I went to the dentist for a very delayed cleaning. I was busy during school and kept putting it off for most of the summer, but they caught me. Good news I have no cavities and I floss surprisingly well for having a permanent retainer...however I have bad news....

dun dun dun.....they have discovered a single wisdom tooth in my x-ray. :ohnoes:

originally I thought it was spiffy that I had no wisdom teeth, mostly cause there is no room in my mouth for any more teeth...and I sorta felt a lil special to be different. Most people get their wisdom teeth at the age of 16 - 18. Nearly all that get wisdom teeth must have them pulled.

now is where the fun begins. My wisdom tooth is far below the gum still. This means that it won't simply be pulled it will have to be cut out. This whole thing is a big ole mess in my head cause I've never been through a surgery! Seriously! I have never been put out for anything. It makes me very nervous the more I think of it...so I have been trying not to think of it. Unfortunately mum reminded me that being on my dad's insurance only lasts as long as I'm in school. This means I have one year to go through this damned surgery. There is no escape! The dental hygienist said that it may never grow pass the gums, but even that may be problematic since it's tilted and can break the tooth it's under or kill the root of that tooth. Also sometimes they can form a sist or some funky growth and not to mention that that darned wisdom tooth is the contributing factor to most of my headaches...

I'm even more agitated that I'm supposedly not allowed to keep the tooth! :shakefish: I figure if I have no choice but to do this and since I've never been through a surgery I figure it could be a keepsake. People are allowed to keep spleens and appendixes why can't I have my tooth?!! The nerve of some people! I'm still gonna bug the shit out of the doctor's to see if I can have my tooth bleached or in a jar of preserving liquid.

hey your timing is fine. lol I've been busy with school so I'm not on weekly anymore.

But yeah that sculpture is amazing! I just started a class of sculpting this semester and it's way fun ,but jeeze oil based clay involves a lot of hand strength these skeletal hands of mine don't seem to have. :giggle:

oh thanks for the compliment!

...by the way, if you think oil based clays are hard on the hands should give wax sculpting a try. It's like trying to massage the nipples of a giant while he's dancing...
...waitaminute..
that analogy doesn't even make sense...
wait let me think of a better one...

...umm

oh hell it's just hard, alright?
Im such an ass....haha
